To create a open air museum accessible to all: this is an ambition accomplished by the Decazeville Community Street Art Festival which, in just two editions, invites us to discover a rich journey of dozens ofwall works to be admired in the streets of the towns of Decazeville and Cransac Les Thermes and Aubin. More than the Aveyron capital of street art, the street art scene in Decazeville has nothing to envy to European cities!
At the heart of the Destination Pays Decazevillois – Lot Valley, a unique story awaits you. The city's walls and gables, the fruit of a mining and steelmaking past, speak to us. Thanks to the talent of artists who are among the big names in Street Art, a new dialogue is established between the past, the present and Art! All for a unique project in Aveyron and a guaranteed emotion.
Beginning of the route
We begin our journey in the city center of Decazeville, a town marked by a mining past. Founded by Le Duc Decazes barely 200 years ago, it had the largest open pit coal mine in France ! Today its walls are colored thanks to talented street artists!
A true process of cultural and artistic democratization, the urban art trail is revealed to us along the streets, an invitation to discover different artistic movements, illustrated by touching and poetic paintings distilled in subtle and sensitive places.
First work we see, the creation of Monkey Bird Crew. The size of this fresco is impressive! A little further on, a series of creations awaits us. Each of the walls immerses us in a different universe, a graffiti catches my eye. This female portrait, with fine lines and colorful curves is definitely my favorite! I learn that it was made by Hopare, a rising figure in the world of street art in France.
We will then continue our discovery by car at the gates of the city center before heading to Cransac les Thermes for the rest of the visit.

The course can be visited freely 365 days a year with a paper or digital map for download on the site of the Office of Tourism and Thermalism of Decazeville Community.
