Medieval village located west of Aveyron, near Lot, Tarn-et-Garonne and Tarn, in the heart of the Gorges de l'Aveyron.
The medieval fortress, perched at the top of its spur hugged by the river, was built to defend the Rouergue.
The castral village developed on the hill in the XNUMXth century.
From the XNUMXth century, the city extended towards the east, with its suburbs making it a bastide. The Bourguet and the Barriou are built along the main street which winds on the rocky ridge, and join the Place du Barry and its covered areas.
The Saint Jean church, built in the XNUMXth century and holding the title of first Gothic church in Rouergue, extends the village to the west.
