On this mild January weekend like the southwest knows so much, we decided, with my companion, to treat ourselves to a two-day well-being break in Aveyron. Nothing like after the holidays!

First day under the sign of well-being

We booked our getaway here because this small town surrounded by countryside what Villefranche seduced us: 2 hours later, here we are.

On the way, we saw the Toulouse buildings fade away to sink into the Albigensian countryside. After Cordes-sur-Ciel et Laguepie, we enter what is called the Rouergue while following the course of Aveyron river. Through the gorges we come to NajacAnd then Villefranche : purpose of this weekend for two.

Well-being: our red thread of the stay

If we take a look in the dictionary, well-being is a “pleasant feeling provided by the satisfaction of physical needs, the absence of worries”. This often involves moments cut off from time: treatments, massages, time without a phone, reconnecting with oneself... Exactly what we are going to do!

As noon approaches, we go to the Jacques said. This restaurant is run by Quentin BOURDY, a chef known to the public by the show Top chef, who, originally from the west of Aveyron, knows how to perfectly sublimate local products in a fine cuisine accessible to all.

This stage in our weekend is not meaningless: in the small vaulted and convivial room of the restaurant, the telephones stay aside and the taste buds feast. Isn't that what we call the gourmet well-being ?

After this delicious meal, we walk a little on the banks along the Aveyron. In the middle of the day, the sun is out: we recharge the vitamin D batteries before going quietly to our accommodation.

Arrival at the hotel: the Relais de Farrou

Farrou Relay
Charming room at the Relais de Farrou

We received a warm welcome at this establishment! When booking the room for one night, I also took care to confirm a massage with a qualified practitioner.

For now, we will discover our room. In the “charm” category, it overlooks the hotel grounds and has a bathtub (among other amenities): calm and enough to take a bath to relax… We are won over!

The hotel also has an outdoor swimming pool, but that may be for another time!

The hour of skincare happens… We have chosen a body massage. The latter is not for therapeutic purposes, it is clearly specified on the hotel's website, but these are well-being treatments: we are in the theme!

Make way for disconnection, each in turn, under the delicate hands of our practitioner. While one is getting a massage, the next goes to the relaxation area. It should be noted: the hotel has a spa, a sauna, and a relaxation room, bliss!

Wellness massage

To end the day well, we decide to leave the hotel to go to the Callusva government-protected from Villefranche de Rouergue, at the time of sunset.

You have two options to get there: walk up or drive up. After our massage and sauna session, it is true that we opted for the car…

Sunset at Calvary

Once up there, the view is sublime! Sunset or cloudy sky, the panorama opens onto the bastide and the peaceful course of the Aveyron: it is inexplicably peaceful.

My companion, follower of yoga, never leaves without his carpet. Faced with this panorama, he unrolls it and treats himself to a session.

Rather adept at meditation, I prefer to sit on a bench to fully admire the show and refocus.

Second day: relaxation!

Waking up is nice in this hotel! Comfortable bedding and quiet surroundings contributed to a more than restful night.

The breakfast, copious and based on local products, prolongs a little more the pleasant experience lived within this establishment. From sweet to savory there is only one step: homemade jam, pastries, fresh bread, local charcuterie and cheeses from the market delighted us.

Lorelius
Well-being, Loreli in Villefranche de Rouergue

Here we are at the end of our stay, but before leaving this pleasant little town, we still have an address to discover. One tea room – hammam awaits us !

At Lorelius, you can both treat yourself to a taste break (taste one of its many à la carte teas, drink a coffee or hot chocolate, eat a small candy) and an incredible moment of relaxation: a spa is hidden there and massages can be booked. You can choose the formula that will make you want! In any case, a moment of well-being is guaranteed!
