Maison d’Or-Vert : Atelier d’Orfèvre du Moyen Âge
About us
Maison d'Or-Vert is a 14th century goldsmiths' workshop awarded the Clef Verte, restored exclusively with sustainable resources. This townhouse serves as a showcase for contemporary art and eco-friendly design.
Overall, Maison d'Or-Vert aims to demonstrate sustainable practices and provide an immersive experience that aligns with our commitment to sustainability, community development, cultural heritage and environmental responsibility.
The workshop is a three-story half-timbered house in a pedestrian street in the heart of the medieval city. It is located a stone's throw from the main square with its old arcades and its large local producers' market. The house has been finely restored, preserving its Renaissance doors and massive beams.
The ground floor is the library, quiet and equipped with fast wifi, ideal for remote working. There is a desk, a child's sleigh bed, and a wine cellar as well as a WC and a washing machine. The first floor offers two bedrooms with a luxurious bathroom with a large bathtub. The second floor, very bright, has a fully equipped open kitchen with a living room decorated with contemporary paintings.
Sustainable resources were used in the renovation, including natural insulation, lime-hemp walls and a wood stove for heating.
