Les Tioulières – Ambeyrac

Route details

AMBEYRAC

Description

A path that follows the "old hill" that climbs the Ambeyrac plateau, amidst the formerly cultivated terraces (paredons). It goes around the Tioulières, a former site for the extraction of slates (teulas) and/or clay used to make terracotta tiles (teules).
In the first months of 1944, the small (private) barns all around served as a refuge and rear base for the resistance fighters of the Ambeyrac Maquis.
Short circuit lasting approximately 2 hours: it is currently being marked with yellow PR type signs by the Ambeyrac town hall. The yellow signposts are already in place. Follow Circuit No. 1 “Les Tioulières”.
