Procession des Pénitents Noirs et Bleus à Villefranche-de-Rouergue

This is the second year, after a long absence, that the procession of the Black and Blue Penitents of Villefranche-de-Rouergue will take place, on Saturday, April 26.

The procession will begin in front of the Chapel of the Black Penitents at 3:00 p.m. The Penitents will walk through the historic center, passing by the Chapel of Saint James and Notre-Dame Square, where a musical interlude will take place in front of the collegiate church. The procession will continue to the Place de la Fontaine and the former Chapel of the Blue Penitents, before the ascent to the Calvary. A closing reception will be offered there by the municipality.

Anyone interested can don the costume of Penitents.

Organised jointly by the municipality of Villefranche-de-Rouergue, the Calvaire association and the Bastides and Gorges de l'Aveyron tourist office.
