The XNUMXth-XNUMXth century Royal Fortress is an extraordinary example of military defence. This castle was actively involved in the struggles against the Cathars and the Hundred Years War. His dungeon served as a prison for the last Templars of Rouergue.

Tremendous power:

Witness to the military architectural genius of the Middle Ages, the extraordinary defensive power of the castle is highlighted by a large model. The dungeon houses 6,80 m arrow slits, unique in the world. Halfway up, the Gothic chapel, with countless marks of companions, hides the secret passage of the last refuge of the Governors, before accessing the grandiose panorama over the city of Najac.
