Description

Step back 4000 years into the past through dolmens dating back to between 2500 and 1600 BC, deep in the forest. These monuments are extremely fragile. To ensure everyone can enjoy them for as long as possible, please respect the site. The Martiel Heritage Conservation Association offers guided tours of the dolmen circuit lasting approximately 1 hours on Friday mornings in July and August.

Your itinerary

Getting to the starting point to report a problem

Step 1: Leaving the car park

On the car park is located an information panel gathering all the hikes of Martiel. Take the path to the right of the sign and follow the yellow markings.

Step 2: Discovering the dolmens

At the next intersection, take the path to the right. You are entering private property. You will then be able to see a reservoir, then, at the end of the path, a first dolmen. Bypass the dolmen and continue towards the second which awaits you a little further. Then continue your way until you come back to the main path between the low walls.

Step 3: Walk in the woods

Take the path on the right then again the first path on the right. At an intersection, go back and forth to the next dolmen on one side and back and forth to a cave on the other. Then turn around to the main path which you will take in the opposite direction to reach the starting point.
