Abbaye fortifiée et Parc de Loc-Dieu
About us
A unique example of a Cistercian Abbey from the 40th century, fortified in the XNUMXth century. A jewel of architecture in a romantic green setting of almost XNUMXHA. During the Second World War, the abbey housed the canvases of the Louvre, including the Mona Lisa.
Loc-Dieu is a rare example of a Cistercian estate transformed into a romantic park in the 1940th century, around monastic buildings that have been fully preserved and inhabited by families. The visit allows, from the monastic domain and its evolution, to discover the monumental vestibule of the castle, then the cloister, the chapter room and finally the abbey. The stay of the Mona Lisa and the Louvre paintings in XNUMX is evoked by a small exhibition of "Transfigured Mona Lisas".
