We are in 1794. Danton and Robespierre (the two great names of the Revolution of 1789) are face to face for a final meeting in a France plagued by violence and Terror.
A sort of verbal duel will take place between these two men with completely opposite temperaments: Danton, enjoyer, excessive and Robespierre, elegant, thoughtful, chilling. Their relationship has always been very complicated, between friendship and hatred and there, driven by the same desire for freedom, they will express two very different conceptions of life and happiness. A few days later, Danton will be guillotined by order of Robespierre!
But it is not a history lesson that we are witnessing because, in a rigorous staging and a timeless and symbolic scenography, each word of this chiseled dialogue resonates strongly in today's society. The Fracasse company which is at the origin of this show, having given itself the mission of developing citizen projects to make people think without giving lessons.
