Exposition à l'abbaye de Beaulieu : L'adieu
As part of the “An artist, a monument” program and the Lithuanian Season in France, the Lithuanian artist Tadao Cern is invited for an in situ creation at the Beaulieu-en-Rouergue abbey.
The Cistercian architecture of this monument offers a particularly inspiring setting for contemporary creations. Thus, it is in the choir that the artist projected his work, a monumental sculpture called the Farewell, erected vertically and covered with wheat.
Born in 1983, Tadao Cern lives and works in Vilnius, Lithuania. He graduated with a master's degree in architecture and turned towards photography in 2011. His photos opened the doors to an international career, he exhibited in many prestigious places such as the Van Gogh Museum and won several awards.
The artist is invited by the Center of National Monuments, the Lithuanian Cultural Institute and the French Institute as part of the Lithuanian Season in France in 2024.
