Saturday May 23 at 20:00 p.m.
Musée Champollion – Les Écritures du Monde Place Champollion Figeac
The museums of Figeac open their doors wide to you. This evening, dedicated to dance, invites you to the Museum of Writing to discover the work of choreography.
For this 22nd edition of the European Night of Museums, the museums of Figeac open their doors wide to welcome the public freely throughout the evening. From 20 pm to midnight, we invite you to (re)discover the collections of the Champollion Museum – Writings of the World, those of the History Museum, exceptionally open that evening, and also the...temporary exhibition Dance notation.
This Museum Night, themed around dance, will invite you to the Museum of Writing to discover the work by choreographer Laurence PagèsShe will offer you a danced celebration of booksof children's literature, and of everything in them that moves and stirs us. She is interested in the book as an object, in its materiality, and in dancing with books in the literal sense to make the book a true play partner, an integral element in the physical encounter, dancing with it to enter with relish into the act of reading.
She will also introduce us Dances at workA choreographic promenade within the museum. Blending discourse and dance, it is structured as a journey among works chosen for their relevance in opening a dialogue between dance and art, where space, bodies present, volumes, and matter respond to one another. The aim is to weave connections between the gestures of sculpting and engraving and the movements of dance.
From 22 p.m. onwards, the evening will continue with a Bal'Ograph LOVE!
Join us at the Rosetta Stone, transformed into a dance floor, to celebrate love and togetherness through dance and revelry! Bal'Ograph reinvents the modern ball and invites the public to become fully involved in a friendly, bold and festive experience set to the rhythm of 2 DJ sets, a choreographer and dancers.
Romantic dance performances, participatory moments and glittery bursts will punctuate this festive and quirky night.
