Stage de Danse baroque – Stage de Théatre

Born from a collaboration between composers such as Lully and Charpentier, dancers and dramatic poets of the Grand Siècle, the comedy-ballet genre is represented by several pieces by Molière: The Unfortunate Ones, The Forced Marriage, The Bourgeois Gentleman, The Magnificent Lovers, The Imaginary Invalid…

Divided into two groups, one of dancer trainees and the other of actor trainees, this workshop will be an opportunity to explore excerpts from these works. It will first involve working separately on the dramatic and danced parts. For the theater, work on the body, diction (verse and prose), acting intonations, and listening to the author's wishes. For the dance, after a warm-up and stretching, work on the basic steps of Baroque dance, then learning choreographies for 2, 4, or more for country dances. The two arts will then be brought together for a public performance on Saturday, August 2 at 19 p.m.

Training period : Monday July 28 to Saturday August 2 inclusive.

Hours:

Monday to Friday: 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 14 p.m. to 16 p.m., 17 p.m. (theater). Some days, group work from 16 p.m. to 18 p.m.

Saturday: rehearsals and run-throughs, performance at 19 p.m., by reservation (free participation in fees), Villefranche village hall.

Cost :

educational fees: €200 + €10 membership to the association

Accommodation: €32/night, lunch €17/day (Institut François Marty)
