Musical theater
The young actors of the Compagnie Le Club Dramatique, directed by Mélanie Vayssettes, have taken over these two comedies by Molière: the first in one act and in verse, the second, in three acts and in prose, thus celebrating the multiple talents (including language) of this exceptional playwright.
In these two works, Molière emphasizes love, jealousy, and the freedom to choose one's future. All of this unfolds within a context of misunderstandings and intrigues that inevitably provoke laughter.
But the originality of this show lies above all in its scenography and staging: modern costumes, different spaces but without changes of scenery, a great proximity with the public who feel very involved, a preponderant place left to the performance of the actors who will therefore take us on a journey through time which nevertheless still resonates very strongly in our societies.
A great moment of theatre then with this company which illustrates well this quote from Molière: "It is a strange undertaking to make honest people laugh" (The Critique of The School for Wives, 1663).
