The 2nd edition of the procession of the Black Penitents and the Blue Penitents of Villefranche-de-Rouergue will be held this Saturday, April 26!

This is the second year, after a long absence, that the procession of the Black and Blue Penitents of Villefranche-de-Rouergue takes place, on Saturday April 26.

The procession will begin in front of the chapel of the Black Penitents at 15 p.m. The Penitents will stroll through the historic center, passing by the Saint-Jacques chapel and the Place Notre-Dame, where a musical interlude will take place in front of the collegiate church. The procession will continue through the Place de la Fontaine and the former chapel of the Blue Penitents, before climbing up to Calvary. A closing drink will be offered there by the municipality.

Anyone interested can take on the role of Penitents.

Organized jointly by the commune of Villefranche-de-Rouergue, the Calvaire association and the Bastides et Gorges de l'Aveyron tourist office.
