"L'Eau des collines" brings together two novels by Marcel Pagnol: "Jean de Florette" and "Manon des sources" brought to the stage by Jean-Marie Doat and Cécile Guillot.
These two actors will embody all the characters in these two works and recreate the completely closed world of the small Provençal village of Les Bastides, one of whose mottoes is: "Here, we don't meddle in other people's affairs."
This show therefore shines a light on serious human flaws such as indifference and greed, but also, constantly, on the crucial importance of water. This is achieved through particularly original staging and set design, as an animation table, manipulated in full view, allows the creation of video images using simple elements such as soil or plants, which then form the scenery of the show!
We will thus be transported to this village of the 30s, but also to our society which, at times, closely resembles it!
Show seen at the Avignon Festival in 2025 and at the Théâtre de l'Essaïon in Paris in 2024
