Exposition « Notations de la Danse »
Since the 15th century, more than a hundred systems for notating movement have emerged. From the Renaissance, where they were designed for the transmission of dances, to the choreographic transcriptions of today's artists, each with their own unique way of capturing their dance. They reveal a wide diversity of forms of writing and uses. This exhibition evokes these uses and systems through a few examples of choreographic scores.
Valuable handwritten and printed documents, on loan from the National Dance Center, shed light on the variety of media and the specific characteristics of each
choreographer.
