The energy transition is defined by the government as the replacement of fossil fuels with electricity. Before venturing into solutions, it might be helpful to better understand what this entails. We will examine the concept of energy together, followed by some basic principles of physics. This will lead us to a better understanding of the physical realities and the orders of magnitude of what we consume. Does the common discourse mask some of the difficulties in implementing such a transition? Let's try to identify them.
