Concert du Choeur de Figeac et des musiciens de l’orchestre de chambre Camérata
The two ensembles will offer a particularly varied program, with excerpts from two masses with very different aesthetics. This season's work focuses in particular on Louis Vierne's "Messe solennelle," composed in 1900 and considered revolutionary at the time for its simplicity, as well as on "A Little Jazz Mass" by Bob Chilcott, a British singer, choirmaster, and composer, which premiered in June 2004 at St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans.
As is their custom, the two groups will also explore varied musical universes with works such as "Zadok the Priest" by Georg Friedrich Handel, "Edelweiss" by Oscar Hammerstein, "Guantanamera" by Joseito Fernandez or "Nath Joik" by Frode Fjellheim, among others, which will complete this program.
The choir members and musicians hope that this concert will be received with enthusiasm by their loyal audience and that, perhaps, the voice of John Littleton, which resonated in this same church in August 1978, will accompany their performance.
Free participation.
