Concert « De la Renaissance au baroque » musique pour clavecin des XVIe et XVIIe siècles
“From the Renaissance to the Baroque” harpsichord music from the 16th and 17th centuries
Elisabeth Joyé, virginal, spinet and Labrèche harpsichord
In the 17th century, instrument making took off phenomenally, at the same time
that the technique of the instrumentalists reached previously unthinkable levels.
was the century of keyboards.
This astonishing development had its roots in the musical language of the
Renaissance. In addition to the conference on music, organized as part of
of the 13th Rencontres de Bournazel, this concert will illustrate the change in aesthetics
leading to the birth of European Baroque, with works by composers
Italian, English, Dutch, German and French.
For this varied musical journey, Elisabeth Joyé will play on instruments used
during the Renaissance (spinet and virginal), to achieve the balance of the harpsichord
original by Claude Labrèche from 1699 preserved in Bournazel, synthesis between the
Renaissance and Baroque.
