Objectives and content

Storytelling workshop (Ostal de l’occitan – 20 rue de Pomairols in Villefranche-de-Rouergue):

During this workshop, participants will be invited to immerse themselves in the world of storytelling and to learn the techniques of oral transmission by drawing on different versions of stories, whether regional versions or more contemporary rewritings, in French and Occitan.

Soundscape workshop (La Basse-cour – 10 rue Jacques Borelly in Villefranche-de-Rouergue):

During this workshop, which is open to all, participants will listen to the outdoor sound environment, record sounds, and discover the editing process in order to create a soundscape recording.

Speakers

Monique BURG, storyteller

A native of Sarlat in Périgord, Monique Burg trained as an actress in England where she lived and worked for 11 years. Upon returning to Occitania, she began a parallel career as a storyteller, which she practices in French, Occitan and English.

François DUMEAUX, musician

My playground lies at the intersection of experimental and traditional music. I like to capture music through composition, improvisation, soundscapes, and generative synthesis. I use modular synthesizers, violin, vocals, and the studio. To borrow Alain Savouret's apt semantic find, I belong to the realm of an aural tradition.

Practical information

Workshops limited to 10 participants.

Meals are the responsibility of the trainees, who may bring their own lunch if they wish.
