Atelier en Famille « Animaux légendaires du Moyen Âge »
Wednesday July 15 at 14:30 a.m.
Maison du Gouverneur – CIAP des Bastides du Rouergue 1 rue du Château 12270 Najac
A family workshop combining a visit to the "Exhibition Beasts!" exhibition and a creative workshop about legendary animals.
In the Middle Ages, legendary animals did not come from nowhere. They were the product of misunderstood descriptions, accounts from inaccurate travelers, a deep fear of the unknown, and an era in which religion held sway: if it was written and drawn, it was true.
During this family workshop at the Governor's House in Najac, young and old alike will come together to meet these fascinating creatures to understand how knowledge, beliefs and myths are constructed and transmitted, a question that goes far beyond the Middle Ages, since dragons and unicorns still populate our stories and our imagination today.
Between interactive visits to the exhibition Show animals! And as a creative workshop, the workshop holds many surprises. Real or imagined? The answer may surprise you…
Then comes the moment to cross over to the other side: each family invents its own fantastic creature, gives it a name, a geographical origin, powers… Everyone leaves with their creation.
