The Roc du Gorb natural climbing site is nestled in the heart of the Viaur gorges. Classified as a sports site (including 2 introductory sectors) according to FFME standards, climbing is free and open to all! An ideal place for families and beginners.

Classified as a sports climbing site, it meets the following requirements: standards established by the French Federation of Mountaineering and Climbing (FFME)This ensures a safe practice that complies with current standards.

An ideal place for climbers, whether beginners or more experienced, clubs, schools and families.

The rock is black; it is metamorphic schist veined with quartz.

In total 155 climbing routes spread over 9 different sectors: Les Etraves, Le Four, La Face Ouest, Le Gorb, Le Gardien, Le Mur Jaune, La Plage, La Tour, L'île aux enfants.

From 5 meters to a maximum of 45 meters, rated from 2C to 7B, the approach walk is 10 minutes for the first sector La Plage.

Roc du Gorb offers two introductory sectors that are perfect for beginners or families wanting to try climbing in a natural, unspoiled, and safe environment. These two sectors, "La Plage" and "L'île aux enfants," offer routes suitable for all skill levels and can be bolted from the top of the cliff.

Particularly popular with families, it allows young people and adults to enjoy themselves together by the water. Several picnic tables are available on site: two in the parking lot, two near the climbing routes, and one near the Le Four area.
