No, the fortress is closed in winter, but the medieval village remains accessible. Walk to Place Saint-Barthélemy for a beautiful view of the fortress.

When is the off-season in Najac?
Most attractions and activities are open from April to November (from Easter to All Saints' Day). The off-season is usually November to March. It's still possible to enjoy the beauty of the village at this time.
What to do in Villefranche de Rouergue in winter?
The bastide and its collegiate church
Stroll through the country house and visit the Notre Dame collegiate church, a must-see in the city. Ask for a visit plan at the tourist office, Promenade du Guiraudet, and explore the historic center of Villefranche de Rouergue.

Le the market Thursday's market remains a must-see in the city! Smaller than in summer, you can still find everything there, in the beautiful setting of Place Notre-Dame. Take a break with a coffee under the arcades.

Are the markets open?
Yes, weekly markets take place all year round, on Thursdays and Saturdays in Place Notre-Dame.
Can we visit the Saint-Sauveur Charterhouse and the Chapel of the Black Penitents?
No, both monuments are open from April to November. Outside of this period, you can still book a group tour with our dedicated service.
Other option: the collegiate church of Notre-Dame which is open all year round.

The Jean-Marie Perier Gallery
This unique permanent exhibition invites visitors to delve into the world of the 1960s photographer. His portraits of iconic artists, from Françoise Hardy to the Beatles, bear witness to a vibrant and creative era. The gallery is closed in January.

There are many walking trails that allow you to enjoy nature and the peace and quiet during the off-season. From the center of Villeneuve, explore the paths of the causse in search of typical heritage sites: dovecotes, stone castles, dolmens, etc.
